Buy Specs Direct opened its first shop in Thatcham, Berkshire in summer 2006.BuySpecs have been manufacturing spectacles and supplying them to opticians for more than 25 years.

After looking at how the internet had changed the way people shop, they decided they could add another arm to the business by selling direct to the
public. They decided to open modern well stocked opticians shops but with internet prices on the high street and backed up by fully qualified directors and full manufacturing facilities. It means people can visit their  showrooms and buy a pair of spectacles in exactly the same way as they would if they went into a high street shop – but at much lower prices because they are not selling through a ‘middle man’ therefore spectacles are up to 70% less than those in the high street.

Due to popular demand in some of their branches and as the customer base has grown they have now introduced sight testing in select branches- Buy Specs continues to grow and currently has 9 opticians with more in the pipeline.
